A Sneak Peek at TheBeerHouse MVC
A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about a couple of upcoming books from Wrox Publishing's Problem - Design - Solution series:
- ASP.NET 3.5 Website Programming Problem - Design - Solution, based on the ADO.NET Entity Framework (which I will be tech-editing)
- ASP.NET MVC Problem - Design - Solution, based on the ASP.NET Model-View-Controller pattern
Both of these editions represent an evolution of Marco Bellinaso's original TheBeerHouse application. As I mentioned, the presentation layer will be getting a big facelift from previous editions, setting aside the old table-based layout in favor of a more modern, Web 2.0-style layout utilizing CSS.
If you're interested, Nick Berardi (co-author of the MVC edition) has put up a tentative screenshot of his design. This is definitely not your daddy's BeerHouse!
For those of you who could never resist peeking in your parent's bedroom closet before Christmas, Nick has promised to upload the code for his upcoming book at the BeerHouse CodePlex site. I haven't seen it come through yet, but you may want to keep an eye out for it if you're interested at peeking under the covers.
